Doll Make Over

Allison has been asking for a mini me doll for some time.  These doll seem to cost around $100.  That's simply not in our budget.  Not even close.  Even if it were, I couldn't bring myself to spend that much on a doll.  I know...mean mama. lol
Since we've learned to rewig dolls the possibility of a mini me has been renewed.  Today while the children and daddy were on a bike adventure, I got started.  Armed with a curly wig, scissors, glue, and the doll above, I began the transformation.  I gave the doll a new wig.  The next step is to freshen the wig.  It's lost some of it's curl at the cap.  My next step is to pin curl the hair in small sections near the cap.  They'll be home soon, so that will be held for another day.  The glue needs to dry anyway.
This project is due at Easter.  Check back in to see if my mini me idea worked.
This tutorial shows you how we rewig.  The doll above came from Michael's Crafts.  They run about $22.  I used a 50% off coupon from Joanns and paid $11.  I found my curly wig on ebay.  Wigs aren't hard to find, but long, curly, brown ones seem to be. ;)
Blessings,
Debbie
