Pretty Peasant Dress/Top e-Pattern

This pattern will quickly become your go to pattern for tops and dresses.  The Custom Fit and Standard Fit options make this pattern extremely versatile.
With just one pattern piece for the dress/shirt and the sleeve, this easy pattern comes in sizes doll to girls size 10.
The Custom Fit option allows you to control the length of the sleeve and dress/top.  You can create a dress, shirt, tunic or even a nightgown!
The Standard Fit option gives you a cutting guide for a top, tunic, or a knee length dress, with short or long sleeves.
Create a one of a kind look with the addition of ruffles.
The shirt looks great paired with the Quick Pants or Allie's Quilt Skirt, also designed by SquigglyTwigs.

New Pattern: Twirl Skirt

This skirt pattern is designed to be easy to fit and quick to assemble, yet stylish. It has a top yoke with an elastic waist, and a bottom band to allow both an easy fit and some fabric contrast.
By having control over the width and length of the skirt, and the fabric options for the yoke and band, you can create any look you can imagine. We used Flower Power by Jennifer Paganelli in this Twirl Skirt and Peasant Shirt. With the sizing formula you can create a twirl skirt for yourself or your child.
This skirt looks great paired with the Pretty Peasant Shirt, as pictured. Oh, and the skirt really does twirl. My little girl has tried it out many times. lol!
I also made a coordinating Peasant Dress out of the yellow print, with a blue print tie, for myself. We wore our coodinating outfits to a lady's tea and will wear them to church on Mother's Day. Coordinating outfits for Mother's Day is a "mommy thing" for me. And, yes, I'm working on the mommy sized pattern of the Pretty Peasant Dress for you all, too.
Lastly, don't forget we have another contest going on with our friend Penny Raine. The details are in the previous post.

Introducing The Pretty Peasant Dress e-Pattern

This peasant dress/shirt pattern is designed to be easy to fit and quick to assemble, yet stylish. With just one pattern piece you will make a dress or shirt and the sleeve. You can vary the length of the dress/shirt to create a dress of any length, shirt, or tunic, and even a nightgown. The shirt looks great paired with the Cute and Quick Pants, also designed by SquigglyTwigs Designs.
You have control of the bottom width to make it as straight or as full as you please. The sleeve length is also up to you, from cap length to long, variations are endless. A bit of shirring (or elastic casing) at the empire waist line or upper arm can change the design again. Lastly, by using a contrasting ruffle or sleeve you can add your own personal style.
You can see more creations made from this pattern here.
Happy Sewing!

Pretty Peasant Dress...too cute, and Sooo Many Options

Well friends, I can't wait to see what you will all do with this one. There are so many variation options, I can't simply try them all. If I did, my little girl would have way too many clothes. Please share pictures with me when you get a creation finished.
The Pretty Peasant Dress is my little girl's favorite, as a shirt, too. We have yet to do a nightgown with it, but will soon. She even did her first gathering stitch this week; and almost solo. I ran the machine pedal. Some machines have a speed setting, mine does not. She was so very proud of sewing "by herself" at 5. She's one of those children who "can do anything that anyone else can do", at least that's what she thinks, lol.
I'm not sure which pattern will come up next. It will either be the Three Tiered Skirt, or the Ribbons and Bows Jumper. The skirt pattern gets tested next Saturday, when I teach it to the ladies at church. I'm having a lot of fun. I hope you are also.
If you have any questions, concerns, or comments, please, please email me. My hope in all of this is that you are encouraged and empowered to create clothing for/with your family and have fun doing it. Then the craft of clothing creation can go on to the next generation. And, who knows maybe one of you or your daughters will start up your own cottage sewing business. That would be wonderful.
Don't forget to send those photos my way.
