18" of ric rac for each pin.
felt scrap (or some other type of fabric)
1. Use a nickle as your template. Trace and cut a circle of felt for the backing of each "flower".
2. Cut an 18" strip of ric rac for each flower. Wrap it tightly around itself. Put hot glue on the bottom to hold it after you get it started. Continue wrapping. Put glue all over the bottom to hold it together. Also, put a bit on the end to keep it tight to the flower and keep it from raveling.
3. Glue felt circle to the bottom of each flower. Trim felt so that it hides under the flower.
4. Glue hair pin to the flower. Make more and stack them along the hair pin if you like a row of flowers.
Enjoy your new flower bobbie pins. We'd love to see the variations you create. Please add them to our flickr group or email pictures to me at email@example.com and I'll add them for you.

Happy Holidays! and thank you for the tutorial.
Annette-I purchased mine from an online contact a long time ago. But, have since seen it at Hobby Lobby. I did a google search for printed ric rac and found some there today.ReplyDelete
