The Casey Skirt is a favorite at our house and the homes of our testers also. It can be as quiet and feminine or as colorful and whimsical as you like. It all depends on the fabrics you choose to create her.
We chose to use many fabrics, and thread colors to create our Casey. Some of the colors I didn't think even matched, but they certainly do look great together.
You can choose a solid skirt by eliminating the strip section of the directions, and add small lace ruffles and create a more quiet or formula look.
Or like our's, you can choose as many colors as you can find, and even use contrasting threads for top stitching and hemming. Although it's hard to see in the photos, we used metallic thread to attach the ruffles.
On our next Casey we'll just do a zigzag on the ruffle edge to let them fray a little bit.
Casey can be made from nearly any fabric...your design options are endless.
SquigglyTwigs e-patterns are not intended to teach traditional sewing skills. We teach sewists techniques to create fun and easy clothing with their own unique style.
This pattern includes detailed photos, drawings and carefully written instructions to enable you to create your own version of the Casey Skirt.
We suggest you read through the entire pattern before beginning the project.
